Our Pastor & Elect Lady

Pastor Mealancon’s leadership style is simple; deliver The Word of God with crystal clear clarity. This method of teaching has resulted in people coming to Jesus and experiencing true personal relationship with Him. Burdens have been lifted, captives have been set free, and people are living abundant lives. Pastor Mealancon shares a message that the Bible is the road map to; living a prosperous life despite of the challenges of life. In addition he believes his assignment for the church is “Transforming Lives" specifically in the areas of spiritual, physical, social, educational, and economical growth. He understands when people are changed on the inside they manifest great things outside of themselves. A common quote, “Change what is wrong with a man by changing his heart, then change a community through groups of people whose hearts have been changes.” 

Pastor Mealancon’s compassion for people led to his petition to God for ways to overcome suffering all around him. The prayers were answered with an enormous vision. Like other communities, Marrero had become a haven of moral corruption, with physical eyesores and high crime rates. With vision in place, Pastor Mealancon and the church family immediately went to work. Through their effort’s New homes under the “Progressive Homes,” have been built and members of the church where apart of the first to benefit from the progress. Retail training was implemented through the Progressive Thrift Store where individuals learned skills that could be transitioned into the workforce, and more then 20 acres of land has been purchased to develop the Center of Hope, a multifaceted complex that will serve the community as well as the region.

Realizing Pastor Mealancon’s visible commitment to restoring the community, The Times Picayune, a local newspaper and other publications have sought the leadership views of Pastor Mealancon in many articles. He was also invited to attend the African American Leadership Summit in Washington D.C. in 2006 and 2007 to express his strategic views for addressing and effectively changing debilitating imbalances in the African American Community. Because of his great commitment to God, he stands as a beaming example of honesty and integrity. He has been blessed to receive numerous awards, and items of recognition from the secular and Christian community, the Jefferson parish government and state of Louisiana. Yet, he believes his greatest honor is being chosen as a vessel of God.

Lady Antoinette Mealancon has a heart for Women to be whole in Christ Jesus. The Lord has anointed and given her a heart for people. She is the leader of the women’s ministry, “Women Walking In The Light,” where she focuses on healing, health and wholeness of mind, body, and spirit.  She serves as one of the Worship leaders on the praise team, and works alongside her husband building ministry as well as in other areas of the church as needed. Lady Antoinette loves God’s Word, and has a heart for worship.  Her passion is to help women rise to their greatest potential through practical application of God’s Word in everyday life.  Her emphasis, “Women We Must Walk in The Light” is the staple to her message and her personal code for life.  As Elect Lady of Progressive Church she is a godly role model for women, wives, mothers, and grandmothers.
