The Vision of Pastor Mealancon and the Ministry is to strive after the Spiritual Connection and Entrepreneurial Advancement of the Christian Community by providing: Biblical Enrichment, Spiritual Guidance, Motivational Resources, And Economic Empowerment. Progressive Church is committed to "Helping People Progress". This commitment philosophy specifically embodies teaching, building, caring for and nurturing Christians in the following areas: Spiritually, Socially, Physically, Educationally, and Economically.

God has given us the vision for the Center of Hope, Progressive Life Center. It will be a place where the community can come for education, training, health care, job placement and most importantly, food for their soul. With the combination of all of these services and God's help, we can truly be a Center of Hope. In spite of many trials we were able to acquire 28 acres of land in Marrero, Louisiana for which God gave our Pastor the vision to build the Family Center.

However, in 2005, Hurricane Katrina destroyed communities, families, businesses, churches and jobs to such an extent that years later, thousands are still struggling to survive with the bare necessities, even living on the streets with their families. The suicide rate, crime, and drug abuse are far above the national average and continuing to climb.
